The Sadr Region

The bright star in the center is Sadr, and there is a huge region of nebulosity and dust surrounding it. Sadr itself is about 1,800 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, and the star cluster to its left, NGC 6910, is about 3,710 light years away.

Reprocessed image of the Sadr region with my new techniques in Siril. Much better color balance, depth of color, and control of the stars!

My first image of the Sadr Region, which includes NGC 6910, a star cluster, as well as the Gamma Cygni Nebula. This is only a small bit of the entire region of nebulosity, but it is also one of the areas of the region with the most contrast, with the dark dust lanes and bright Ha emissions. I only have a short amount of integration time (3 hours), but I’m happy with how this image turned out so far. I will certainly be adding more integration time to this one in the future. There are also some considerable star halos in this picture, which is where a tighter filter will come in handy. So not only do I want to add more integration time, but like the other nebula I have shot so far, I will definitely need tighter filters to reduce the size of the stars.
